Do link wheels work in a highly competitive niche?
Before I go into link wheels in a highly competitive niche, I will explain what needs to happen for any site to crack a highly competitive niche.
There are 2 types of links any link builder would be familiar with:
1. Base Links – E.g. Web 2.0 Properties, Article Submissions, Blog Posts, Directory Submissions, Blog Comments and Socal Bookmarks.
Base links build the foundation for any link building efforts and are done on an ongoing basis. Link Wheels fall in the category of base links.
2. Authority Links – These are links from Authority sites. Let’s say for example you have a site that is in the iphone niche, and you are targeting the keyword “iphone”. If you had a do-follow text link directly from Apple (which is impossible) that would be the ultimate authority link.
To crack any highly competitive niche a combination of Authority Links and Base Links are required.
In turn a link wheel is a fantastic way to build base links, which are a requirement for any highly competitive niche, however authority links are needed as well to crack any highly competitive niche.
I hope this helps you decide if a link wheel is suitable for you.
